Healthy male friendships are almost as rare in mainstream fiction as gay male relationships, and maybe more rare in fanfiction. Let men be wonderful friends without pushing a romantic relationship, just like men and women should be able to be wonderful friends without the pressure of a romantic relationship.
*AGGRESSIVELY SLAMS REBLOG UNTIL I DIE*
This is literally the reason men are so terrified of being open about loving each other platonically, because they don’t want people to assume they’re gay just because they can be supportive of their fucking friends
I’m a part of the Martial Culture, the culture of the fight gyms.
Guys train in fight sports at these gyms.
I train in muay thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and boxing.
When Men train and fight, they bond. This bonding is driven by the training that these Men do, with constant body contact.
Fighting produces and nurtures Manliness, which is the ability and willingness to fight.
Manliness includes fight skills, a trained and conditioned body and most importantly the Moral Virtues of Humility, Integrity, Selflessness, Self Control and always showing Respect.
We fighters love and cherish our Manliness.
We feel very comfortable being in close contact with other fighters and we really don’t care if the fighters are attracted to Women, Men or even both.
All we care about is their ability and willingness to fight.
So, if I were you, I’d visit a few fight gyms and take some free classes. Talk with the trainers and the fighters. See what the Martial Culture and Manliness are all about.
Even LGBT people are afraid to create LGBT rep half the time because you fucking goblins critique things with LGBT rep so harshly that the second it does something that you personally don’t like it gets treated even worse than the shows that have absolutely no rep in them.
Demonizing every show that is earnestly trying to provide the rep we’ve been lacking is NOT THE WAY TO GET BETTER REP
im not INTERESTED anymore in seeing men’s perception of what female leisure time looks like, how we lounge around hairless and small and beautiful on our beds and couches in oversized shirts and lace underwear, unaware and unassuming and all the more beautiful for not Trying to be beautiful, i’m TIRED of it. even our most basic freedom of privacy, time alone with the self, has been butchered and ripped from us by the gaze of male photographers and artists
